A change in fashion

FASHION has changed in every aspect. It is no longer for the aristocracy and neither all about designer names with the designer price tag.

The high street has made fashion accessible to all and in some ways it is more alluring than Knightsbridge, Chelsea. It has become accessible for every woman to try their hand at creating and developing their own personal style. The high street is almost superior to the designer brands nowadays as they style the clothes on the catwalk creations.

High street shops, minus my personal favourite (Topshop, which I would still class as overpriced), provide women and girls with affordable, fashionable clothing.

But is there a difference between high street fashion and designer fashion? Of course there is. Catwalk clothing isn't made to be worn in the same way. It's showcase of the talent of designer and the skill of the makers, not a garment for daily wear.

The British high street doesn't provide the couture element however, it's garments lack the finesse and quality of the designers. But it is still appealing. One has to question whether the appeal is the clothes or the price tag. The relatively cheap price tag indeed.
