BE MY VALENTINE

Yesterday my friend Taibah and I spent our free being desperate to go to London Fashion Week and eyeing up the different ticket prices and what they included. (We'd both definitely splash out on a LUXE ticket for £145 - why wouldn't you?!) From there we ended up on the Chanel website thanks to my Chanel-obsessed friend Megan (who I went to Paris with). Mesmerised by dresses of all lengths and colours, we soon found ourselves lusting after Valentino. Their dresses in particular. But, I'm going to talk about something more exquisite.

I went back on the Valentino website this morning as I wrote this blog post to have a look at their other collections and came across their New York Haute Couture Fashion Show section. In love, serious love. It's so slick and portrays an effortless style. Most of all, it is wearable. You can easily imagine New Yorkers walking around in these open-back shifts wearing metallic block heels. I'm super excited to don some white lace this coming summer and promote the Valentino feeling of soft, ethereal lace patterns. And who doesn't want a small gold patent pod as a clutch. I get an ethereal yet extra-terrestrial feel from this show, so fashion forward.

Here is the collection in full:

Because we're skint.

Now, I know not everyone can afford pieces like these, me neither. Therefore, I'm making the proposal to do a "Because we're skint" section after everyone post about a designer collection in order to give you the looks for less. So, here goes.

I've chosen replica pieces from ASOS for this.

1.Keep covered up modestly in this Cowl Back Crepe Maxi Dress (£68.00, also available in black).

2. Keep the lines smooth and elegant and go for this midi dress (£45.00), adding some character with the side slit, and taking the cape out of the equation (its not vital for elegance).

3. Getting lacy does not mean showing any particular body parts off to the world, instead choose a lace dress like these to tone the look down. (1. Premium Midi Skater Dress with Daisy Appliques £75.00; 2. Little White Lies Cutwork Lace Dress With Mesh Sleeves £120.00;

4. Keep the horizontal lace going by channelling this Wiggle Dress in Linen Crochet Lace
(£60.00) or this French Connection Lucky Layer Midi Dress (£79.00).

5. Stick to the flowy dresses but opt for this long lacy one: Fame and Partners Geo Heartline Lace Panel Long Sleeve Maxi Dress (£150.00)
