Blue Monday
Pinterest emailed me this evening saying "today is said to be blue Monday" and then went on to send me lots of cute pictures of animals.
I thought I would take the opportunity to look at some of my favourite blue things; styles, items, artwork, photographs. No matter the season, the colour blue works. Pastel and sky blues in summer, cobalt and navy in winter. Blue is timeless in art too, providing depth and a calmness no other colour quite brings.
Return
Ok so it's been nearly two months now since my last blog post and I can honestly say I've been lost without blogging.
Having to put college work and exams first of course but I'll be writing posts more regularly from now on.
I have a few ideas for posts coming up in the next few weeks too so keep checking.

She strikes again
There is just no stopping my gran when it comes to styling; that gene has fortunately been passed down in my favour. She endlessly puts modern twists on vintage clothes but never attempts to dress too young.
The skirt is from House of Bruer (Perth, Scotland) and I can honestly say that in person it's the most luxurious fabric.
My gran paired it with a jumper (Beales), I'm not even going to begin to describe the colour...perhaps honey mustard??
But oh, do the colours work perfectly. Picking out one of the colours of the skirt co-ordinates the outfit.
A local tailor of ours shortened the skirt and kindly made my gran a little scarf/necktie out of the excess
material.
She looks fantastic and I'm proud to be her granddaughter.
Beyoncé's X Topshop
I read on British Vogue's Facebook on Sunday morning that Beyoncé is launching an activewear line with everybody's favourite high street brand.
However my first thought was "Hmm...really?". Although Bey is super fit and never stops dancing, is she really the one to be creating activewear. And more so, why Topshop?
But Beyonce answered the Topshop question: "I have always loved Topshop for its fashion credentials and forward thinking."
From a statement she made yesterday, "Working with its development team to create and produce a technical and fashion-led collection is exciting, and I'm looking forward to participating in all aspects of this partnership." And by the sounds of it, it is indeed a partnership.
The Autumn Dress
I love buying new dresses as it is, but during the Autumn/Winter season I love it even more.
After my trip to H&M in Carrefour (outskirts of Paris) I was after a floaty floral one that went in at the waist but flared out a little.
I'd tried a lovely one on in there but due to being only a mere 5ft1 it was far too long and the waist line was around my hips. Plus the colour totally washed me out. It was definitely one of those "better on the hanger" dresses.
Then, on Thursday I went shopping with my bestie Claudia and found one. It was love at full sight. Yellow, blue and black tartan, which makes it sounds rather weird. But trust me it's lovely. The muted colours make it a good base for jewellery and layers. It fits beautifully, flaring out a little from my hips.
