The very pink cinema date

My boyfriend took me to see TFIOS last night. Well, I suppose I took him because I'd already seen it with my best friend like a month ago.
I'd been shopping yesterday afternoon and had bought four new items (my mum cried, my wardrobe cried also).
So, to the cinema I wore leggings with a pink and a dark brown almost black print, my white t-shirt with "I'm kind of a big deal on my blog" and my new baby pastel pink Chanel-like jacket which is so cosy and perfect for every single season. I paired the outfit with curly hair, eyeliner and lipstick, and my black biker boots.
Fave. Boots. Ever.
I was therefore, very very pink hence the title of this post. To my horror the cinema was packed on arrival and some girls gave me a look on the way out, but I took it as they liked my outfit not "omg she's wearing TOO much pink".

I had a lovely night with the best boyfriend ever.

Style icon: VH

Vanessa Hudgens has become a major style influence for me. Mixing festival textures and materials with a hint of grunge but keeping the girl there.

Metallics

Metallics have made there way back to the forefront for AW14. In new tailored shapes and footwear, silvers and purples are softer but shinier. Metallic leather is a big hit, layer leather gym trousers or shorts under a sparkly green tee, under a silver cropped jacket. Sports luxe at its finest. Try out the flat shoes of the year in a bright silver, and add a shimmery black leather jacket for rocker chick-esque.
Eyeshadow is the key to metallic beauty. Shimmerings of harmonious colours work perfectly, or opt for a more abstract eyeliner for a spin on traditional makeup. Keep the lip pale and muted to avoid too much going on.

Day date: Manchester

For tomorrow I've planned a cute day in Manchester with my boyfriend. After light shopping (probably more intense no doubt) we're going to the art gallery to see the exhibition of some jewellery, I think it's entitled Rings of Saturn.
Then we're off to either Home Sweet Home in the Northern Quarter for a cake, or the Vienna CafĂ© which I believe to be opposite the gallery. From there I predict a lot of strolling and wandering.
Planned outfit is a new purchase, a dress from a shop in the Last Drop Village, Bronley Cross. It's a lovely mix of colours and patterns and is so summery and perfect for this weather.
I'm going to team it with my black converse for a bit of edge, keeping the grunge part of me there somewhere.
I want to buy a bit floppy hat for my holiday, but if I do I'll more than likely wear it on the day.
I plan to milkmaid braid my hair after using a product that my boyfriend's mum kindly gave to me (she gave me about fifty bottles but I can't complain).
I've done my nails all colourful and different, and they match the colours in the dress. I was temped to go for black but I instead did some black pattern on top.
My makeup will be simple, perhaps with quite a bit of eyeliner, and an understated lip.

Can't wait to have the most perfect day with him. It'll soon be five months as if.

Mixing and matching

I have to admit, I'm 100% not good at mixing and matching clothes to create an outfit. Matching myabe, that's the easy part. But mixing? Hell no. Of course, it's not that I don't have enough clothes...I have plenty more than needed. But I just can't see putting them together.
I love styling myself and others and in shops I can always put great outfits together. I walk around the Trafford Centre in Topshop and Forever21 making mental notes or even actual ones on the trends and what goes with what. I love cross-mixing patterns, a bit of clash works for every season. Florals and checks work so well if you get the right colours.
But I don't see why I can do it so well in shops and not at home. One theory, the clothes in the shops are brand new and much nicer than my own, or I just feel more inspired when I'm out shopping. I assume it's the latter, as I wouldn't have bought the clothes in my wardrobe if they were not 'nice'.
It also depends on the season. AW allows for layering, making mixing patterns and textures much easier. For example, a chestnut coloured shearling coat over a denim waistcoat and a long checked shirt, with wooly tights and grungy biker boots.
I have a friend who is great at the title of this post. She has started doing #sophiesstylediary on Pinterest and I love it!
Hopefully as autumn draws near and winter sets in my skills at mixing clothes will improve and I'll be able to creat looks that are forward and inspiring.

Glamour free gift: July

Free gift in Glamour magazine this month is eyeliner.
I went for the magazine with Alexa Chung on, all-time favourite, and forget to check the colour of the free eyeliner I would also be getting.
Therefore, I ended up with navy blue rather than black...
But not to worry, it still looks great.
I don't know whether this product is available to by in beauty stores anywhere but I really recommend it.
Yes, like some eyeliners it did smudge up onto my eyeliner, but that was probably due to a little perspiration from this lovely summer.

Converse

AFTER waiting seven or so weeks, MY CONVERSE FINALLY CAME.
They're so beautiful. There's not much more to say, other that I love them and they're perfect for summer.
My white ones are falling part, however I refuse to throw them away much to my parents despise.

Lovely Lavender

have a deep love for the colour lavender. Lavender is my gran's favourite, her house and even her always smells like it. It's a beautiful light purple colour that works perfectly in a clothing sense on both light and dark skin tones.

Baci's

The other night my friends and I went out to Baci, a restaurant near to us, for Claudia and Vicky's 17th birthdays.
Food was lovely, and outfits were on point.
